So spin the tires and look at the rim edges. Take off the tires and take a screwdriver and put it into the top slot of the caliper and pry on the outer pad to compress the caliper piston. There should be some good resistance but smooth. With the piston depressed see if the caliper moves freely on the slide bolts.
