Crystal bow is really good w crystal armour, you can run most content u do with bowfa be it a bit slower, its still good dps. Only drawback is your max hit being like 10 less than bowfa. U can do zulrah, cox,gwd,dks, shamans, whatever ya feel likeAbsolute bare minimum for learners is probably ACB + Blowpipe with some sort of autocast ancients switch, but honestly crystal armour + bow (bowfa even) and kodai is still considered moderately budget. Crystal armour doesnt need a defensive value buffs, but it could act as a proselyte armour for ranged. Give it prayer bonuses comparable to Other BIS prayer. On top of that, it could have some small ranged str bonus, making it into a more offensive option compared to other tier 70 ranged armour ( like karils,armadyl, blessed dhide ). You lose 2.5% dmg and 5% accuracy on top of -9 ranged attack bonus. I ran faveguard/bofa until my first purple. Now I got the helm :D. It’s pretty normal to run it without the helm at TOA. I recommend using the helmet just because of the boost in performance that the full set of crystal provides and how much it speeds up croc and wardens.

The fbow has armour considerations for learners who use defence as a crutch, and 4 tick attacking messes some people up following the zuk shield. Helm is worth like 12% zuk dps compared to justi or veracs. That's a huge difference. You can also lazy flick with quick prayers as fbow.

Bowfa for sure. I recently sold my bowfa for a tbow rebuild, but honestly: Bowfa has more uses overall than Tbow and can make you money back at so many places. Crystal armour is very squishy, which I hated. Armadyl armour is a noob trap. For a very expensive price, its ranged bonuses are miniscule compared to what ranged weapons can provide. but yes, without armor bowfa still good, though crossbows can be better (ruby bolts) You can full recharge a crystal set in 4-5 hours of thieving and it'll last you months. I used it for my d pick grind at chaos ele. Went with black d hide and it performed acceptably. Not worth using without the crystal armor brother.
