The only shared amenities between the 2 are the disco, kids club, casino, late night snack bar, sports bar and tennis courts. Other restaurant and bars are not shared. Happy travels. 4. Excellence is a great adult only resort, but it looks like it would be about $500 more for the week ...If you are looking for adults only then Breathless or Excellence would be best. We found the food, service and beach at Breathless to far exceed Majestic. If you prefer a calmer beach then Excellence may not appeal to you. Breathless is larger then Excellence but is not crowded as it is well laid out. Very pleased. Elegance might be a bit fancier but the Colonial is very nice. There might be a more upbeat vibe at the Colonial. These 3 resorts don't have exchange privileges. If you don't have children with you, upgrading to the adult side of the Colonial is a good idea. You have to book in the Colonial Club category.

1. Re: Majestic (Mirage/Elegance/Colonial) vs Paradisus. Mirage is the newer section of the Majestics and would offer everything you want. It is a fairly relaxed/quiet and mostly adults only section. Colonial is the older section and mostly family. Elegance is the middle ground.

I assume you are looking at the Colonial Club section. Cause it would also have a private beach area for Club members. Have been to the Majestic Elegance and Bavaro Princess. Both are great resorts but we are returning to the Majestic for trip #5 this winter. BP is a large resort - need a tram to get to the front lobby area most of the time. Very pleased. Elegance might be a bit fancier but the Colonial is very nice. There might be a more upbeat vibe at the Colonial. These 3 resorts don't have exchange privileges.
