You could pull the PCM fuse for about 30 minutes and reset the car and see if your engine light comes back. If it does you have a hard issue, if it does not may have been a glitch.

When the temp is very cold (seems like below 35 or so) the remote start does not work. Normally I hit the button and the horn beeps twice and the car starts. When it is cold, the horn beep only once and the car does not start.
