Thanks for the reply!! The motor model # is 225 581500 (15hp) The prop that's on there now model # is tough to read but I think it's 072025. The motor is on a 14' Gamefisher Aluminum boat. We usually carry 2 avg sized poeple and fishing equipment. (Battery, Minn Kota trolling mtr, gas tank...) If there is any additional info needed I will reply.

I have a real nice 15 HP Gamefisher motor, model 225.587151. I purchased a brand new starter { pulley starter} from a Mercury dealer who now carry parts for the Gamefisher. The motor will not crank from the pulley starter. Its so tight that it has broken off two ropes.Just installed an electronic ignition on a 95 Gamefisher 15 HP outboard. I bought the kit from CDI electronicsAnd it ran me about $200. So far so good .

Re: Gamefisher 15hp - 1989 I would see if you can find a manual for them as this will give you the compression they should be, if they have been sitting for ages and hardly started, it could be rings sticking. So your model would either be 225.581501 or 225.581491. If they are all 95psi with no variance with the others, it might still run fine.

Neither one runs, but both look like brand new and came with the original manuals and hang tags from when they were sold.
