32 posts · Joined 2011. #36 · Jan 19, 2012 (Edited) I just looked at the Polaris website, and a standard 50" RZR has a dry weight of 978 lbs with a payload of 740 lbs. 1718 lbs, that equates to a winch of 2580 lb capacity using the 1 1/2 GVW rule. So it seems that 2500 would be the bare minimum, with a 3000 being ok.If you google image search APEX 5500 you'll see HF has two versions of the winch on their website. A long drum version and a short drum version. You can't search for it on their website only the 5500 Badlands hook appears. MOUNTED the Apex 5500 short drum on my Can Am Renegade xmr.
