Jumbo: I'm a real newbe, and don't know when the Marlin 882 was discontinued, but I recently purchased a 982vs which I intuitively think is the current production replacement for the 882. My gun is the synthetic stock, ss heavy barrel, bolt action, with both 4 and 7 bullet clips. I presume it's similar to the 882 you are looking at.

Installed trigger on Marlin 25mn. Install was about a 15 min jop. Trigger set at 1.8 lbs on trigger scale. Had to play around with sear engagement a bit to get rid of creep.
