Probably have the FOB in your pocket and sit down and when you come out, the trunk is open. I had the same problem and to resolve this, I installed a 2 shot trunk release. Once installed the trunk will no longer randomly open on you.
I thought that with mine before I got the two shot relay, but even having the keys on my desk or in an upper shirt pocket the trunk would still be open. My trunk switch failed about a month after getting the two shot relay during a bad rain/ice storm.here are my suggestions: 1. remove the spoiler.... if it is so large that it affects your trunk opening, it is probably very ugly, and your cruze will never go fast enough for it to provide any function anyway. 2. go to a junk yard and look for hood or hatch struts from other cars, or buy an aftermarket hood strut kit and install it in your trunk.To open your trunk there is a lever to the left of the driver seat, on the floor. If you lift this it will pop the trunk. If you have the electronic key fob that came with the car , there is a trunk button on it. But it could still be a driveway project. Hammer the dent out some, grind it down to bare metal, apply body filler (bondo), sand, prime, apply body putty, sand, prime, sand, mask, paint, clear coat.
