Solar can spam the throwing knives (any variant) so it's nice to spray with calus, throw knife to reload and ignite, repeat. Recluse is still top dog for SMGs and even under it, there's still SMGs out there, especially in the energy slot that are arguably a better shout than Calus Mini Tool, off top of my head I can think of Bug Out Bag with the right round and mag perks tied with Zen Moment/Threat Detector and Multi Kill Clip being pretty solid.
