It was cranking 185 before, and it when up to 197-198 with four degrees more. It seems the 10-11 to one engines might be the ones that like the extra cam advance. The Edelbrock 7102 suggested by delawarebill would, I believe, be way too much cam for your setup. It has very slow ramps with a lot of duration, 308 intake 318 exhaust. 03-16-2017, 06:16 PM. I have a 350 chevy engine that has the Edelbrock top end package with the 7102 cam. The previous owner installed a Pete Jackson gear drive and used the 2 degree retard insert for some reason. What should the result be by using the 2 degree retard versus being set a 0 degree. The engine is not very responsive at low end.
