Im grinding for a mage setup run since i have yeti sword and spirits sceptre alr as well as boots and helmet of storm, just grinding money to buy cp and leggings, setup is for f6-f7 mainly as well as outside of dungeons, possibly kudra. Full storm is ass, since f7 is more about survivability. 3/4 storm with either necromancer or t12 chest should do the job,also this should be obvious but use a blue whale, also don't forget to lifesteal every single time since you can't tell when you will be 1 tapped ever. Berserkers have even less survivability.Basically you can't Oh wait you mean switching classes, go tank I would say. Get full recomb goldor + reaper mask, soul whip blue whale lvl 100 and you're good.

You will gain a good amount of money invest in necro lord or maybe go to a LMB route and use SA armor if your going to stay as RMB use necro lord to do f6.3/4 Goldor and reaper mask is what I see peoplee wearing. From someone who dropped 2 handles as tank, i can say that the best things for f7 tank on a tight budget without clearing setup would be the normal 3/4 and reaper mask with giant reforge. This also comes with the standard blue whale (preferably legendary) with a pet item of your choice.Currently I have a semi-decent mage setup that has a yeti sword, and I lcm/rcm. Rcm with yeti sword works well in basic kuudra but it gets harder in hot tier and pretty much impossible in burning tier. We all did not have wither armor (of course because we all tried it when F7 first dropped). Extra items REQUIRED FOR f7: wither cloak to not die from bossroom lava, bonzo staff for cheesing bomb defuse and getting crystals, rabbit hat/jerry-chine gun for upcrush and ice spray for mini bosses and necron. Legendary whale so you don't die. im pretty sure the withers damage boost things dont work on mage attacks and if you have a good tank i dont think youd need to worry about taking damage because theyd be tanking most of the hits.
