Obtain the three Netherstones. We have finally arrived in Baldur’s Gate. To face the elder brain, we must obtain the Netherstones from the three Chosen. We already have Ketheric’s Netherstone. We have obtained Orin’s Netherstone. We have obtained Gortash’s Netherstone. Meet Gortash at the Morphic Pool. We made a deal with Gortash.
Only one elder brain controls an illithid colony because it works like how our brains control our body. Every mind flayer acts as an extention of the elder brain. It believes it is the most important thing in the realms, and if anything were to threaten its ego it would destroy it. BG3 of course made it more powerful and larger.Prerequisites for Confront the Elder Brain . In order to successfully confront the Elder Brain, you will need to gather three netherstones. You will find the first netherstone as early as Act 2. One of the main quests will have you defeat Ketheric in battle. Doing so will give you the first netherstone that you need. The Ketheric NetherstoneEdit. Might be preferable to save between turns when the Brain starts to destroy the platforms. Dimension portal your mindflayer companion to the brain and let it do its thing (aka use the brain control skill), then cast Sanctuary on him/her. Fight is over.
