A 248 ( M block ) could be bored up to the parent bore diameter of the 264 block and then putting in thin wall sleeves it would be stepped up a 281.Head that Steiner and others sell new is patterned after the LP head used on part of the 400 LP tractors and all LP 450 tractors. It has the smallest combustion chamber of any IH made that will work on 6 series engines. 400,450 gasoline was the next smallest after that.
