My l5p 2019 27k miles l5p when slowing down and there is no load on engine or the wheels pushing it around 1k or whatever rpm surges around 200rpm. Like the tach bounces like it cannot regulate speed well under no load conditions.

I had set the trip odometer the day I bought it and it's averaging almost 17, including some mild camper towing. Tank to tank I'm seeing better than 18 with regens.
Dealer says its normal. It's strange that even with a powertrain re-design that the Duramax still continues to carry over some of the annoyances with it.
