You'll also want to do this as early as possible, as this will allow you to roam the area freely and hunt and foraging without needing to stay near a river.

Water poisoning is a part of the game that hasn't been implemented yet. In the future you will risk getting sick drinking from a river or a lake. Just like you currently risk getting sick eating raw meat. My guess is you will need to boil water before you can drink it. #7.
