I no longer recommend Oanda for non-US residents as of a couple of years ago. They've been slowly changing their offering over the years to be less and less competitive and there are simply better options out there. That said, for US residents with few regulated options to use.. Oanda is still not a horrible choice to go with. The minimum amount is USD $10 per order. Moreover, the minimum activity fee for a new account is USD 3. IBKR does not allow dormant accounts. The IBKR Account Minimum is usually $2,000 or $10,000. It’s the same across the industry. If you have a small initial deposit, you can open a regular account for free.If you use OANDA your leverage is capped at 50:1 here in the US; Unless you have a decent bankroll to start (20-30k minimum), I would use a broker that has 500/1000:1 to scalp (lots out there)...then you can have $2000 in your account and still be able to get 2-5 lots for short term scalping.
